Also, I don’t think it was so much about destablising the EU as it was about destabilsing Britiain & making it lose its place in the world.

After all, London was always the back-door channel through which Washington communicated with the EU. And being the first country that's called by a U.S. president gives you a lot of soft power - power which they really no longer have. I suspect Biden now deals with the EU through Macron.

This also, to an extent, undermines the 'special relationship.' America and Britain now have one less thing to work on together (and it is a pretty big thing). In that sense, the isolation Britain finds itself in now is immense.
