I understand where you're coming from.

There's not many places in London you can walk without seeing people living on the streets. And it's getting worse.

Corruption was rampant once Covid hit. They've now hired a slew of new executives in the NHS, all earning more than the PM. Only time will tell whose relatives they turn out to be this time.

And I think you might be onto something with your point re England. Brexit was an English decision. I'd have to check, but I'm pretty sure electing Johnson was all England too.

And yes, it is indeed disheartening to see politicians do as they please and not be held to account. Especially if, like me, you come from a country where a lack of accountability was the norm. You know where these things lead. And it's not pretty.

And as far as the vibe goes, I did feel too as if there was something in the air. Something you didn't feel before Brexit came along. A sense of disappointment, betrayal, and reluctant acceptance of a new, more miserable, reality.
