I do agree with you there. Unfortunately, if America merely tries to sweep this under the rug, it's also going to take away any opposition to fascism. And a close examination of the GOP reveals they do their best (read authoritarian) work in silence. What you'll see then, just like you did in 2016, is another Trump "coming out of nowhere."

And since the Democrats certainly don't plan on calling the Republicans out for fascism, this responsibility belongs solely to the electorate.
