Donald Trump “the phenomenon” isn’t something you can simply vote out of office. He has become the symbol of Right-wing nationalism in America, molding and reshaping how the business of politics is done in the process. Understanding how influential he’s been is crucial if you’re to have an idea of where you’re heading next. The past, as they say, informs the present.

The question is, where do you start? American politics — talking Right wing specifically here — has become a complex web of ideas, ideologies, narratives, experiences, and thought leaders. Trump, in most cases, is at the very center. I will try to take things “chronologically” — if that is even possible — and start by explaining the emotions behind Trump’s appeal to his grip over the MAGA base to what the future, as a result of his influence, is going to look like.
